Quality Manager

Great opportunity for advancement with a privately held growing global company serving the automotive and industrial fastener markets located in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Quality Manager with a Tier 1 background. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance systems to ensure that products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role will lead the quality team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to uphold manufacturing standards and compliance. Occasional travel may be required for supplier audits or customer visits.

Responsibilities:
  • Continuously improve and manage the plant's quality control and assurance procedures to ensure compliance with quality operating systems and customer specifications.
  • Interface with customers to address quality concerns, conduct external audits, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Oversee quality documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality records.
  • Utilize Six Sigma, Lean and other quality improvement methodologies to drive process efficiency.
  • Analyze production processes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
  • Provide training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to plant employees.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.
  • Train and manage a team of lab technicians.

Educational Skills and requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or industry-specific quality standards.
  • Experience with quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and statistical analysis software.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Must possess a strategic approach to problem resolution.
  • Must be experienced and comfortable working in a plant environment.

Salary: $120,000 based on experience.

Phone allowance: Monthly.
