Our client, an exciting consumer goods company based in Seattle, is looking for a Packaging Structural Development Coordinator in a supportive role assisting the packaging structural engineering team. You will work cross-functionally with multiple internal and external teams to deliver high quality packaging solutions for their products. This is a hybrid role, that will sometimes have the need to go into the office in Seattle. Flexible on the days of the week.
Contract: 6 months
Hours per week: 40
Hourly Rate: $30-35/hour
About the Role
Supports the packaging development process by tracking and documenting material specifications, part number creation, assembly instructions and testing status/results
Maintains files for organization, storage, and any revisions for all packaging design specifications
Collaborates with cross-functional teams that may include Product Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Merchandise Sourcing and Packaging Production Engineering
Identifies and executes improvements or enhancements to packaging structural design process
Supports the packaging engineering change process and facilitates new solution implementation and adoption with the expectation to communicate updates and changes to all project teams
Skills and Expertise
2+ years of comparable work experience in a packaging design and development environment
A bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, operations or a related technical field
Experience working in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
Preferred experience in Artios and Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks 3D CAD, Studio and Key Shot rendering software
Familiarity with TOPS or CAPE software
Understanding of properties, terminology and specifications surrounding corrugate, paperboard, and other packaging materials and processes
Familiarity with packaging printing, manufacturing, and assembly processes
Experience with ISTA Transit Tests and retail customer requirements
