Position
This role is the company's public face, focused on expanding our network, enhancing our reputation, and generating new opportunities for our company and our commission-based dealmakers. Unlike a traditional business development role focused on direct deal execution, this position is dedicated to brand building, industry engagement, and high-level relationship cultivation. The Director of Business Development will take charge of messaging, marketing material creation, and strategic outreach, ensuring that the Company is recognized as a prolific and capable developer.
Industry Representation: Serve as the Company's brand ambassador by actively engaging with industry events, networking functions, conferences, and partner gatherings.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, developers, retailers, medical groups, investors, and other key stakeholders to increase market visibility and business opportunities.
Strategic Outreach: Lead efforts to introduce the Company to new markets, partners, and potential clients, paving the way for our development team to execute deals.
Marketing & Messaging: Oversee the development of marketing materials, presentations, and brand messaging to effectively communicate the Company's strengths and capabilities.
Business Development for Retail and Medical Sector: Support our retail business and our growing medical development sector by expanding partnerships and fostering industry connections.
Thought Leadership: Represent the Company in industry panels, public speaking engagements, and networking events to establish the firm as an industry leader.
Continuous Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the real estate development space.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in business development, real estate networking, corporate relations, or a related field.
Strong existing network within commercial real estate, retail, and/or medical development.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Highly personable, outgoing, and comfortable in high-profile social settings (dinners, events, conferences, etc.).
Experience leading corporate branding and outreach initiatives.
Ability to work independently while closely collaborating with the Company's deal-making team.
