As an ERS Technical Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and managing the high-performance components that power our success. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of cutting-edge ERS technologies, enabling us to stay ahead of the competition and drive the future of motorsport.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement process for all ERS components, including Motor Generator Units (MGU), Energy Storage (ES), battery cells/components, HV electronics, and related subassemblies.
Collaborate with engineering teams to fully understand technical specifications and performance requirements for ERS components.
Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers specializing in high-performance ERS technologies.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure optimal cost, quality, and lead times for ERS components.
Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with technical requirements, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Stay informed on advancements in ERS technologies and proactively identify new suppliers or innovations that align with program goals.
Ensure all purchased ERS components meet FIA regulations and homologation requirements for Formula 1.
Support risk assessments related to supplier capabilities, supply chain disruptions, and component reliability.
Maintain accurate documentation of procurement activities, including supplier agreements, purchase orders, and compliance records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in motorsports or automotive industry, OR
Master's or PhD degree in related field with 1+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in procurement of high-performance electrical systems or components
Desirable Skills:
Strong understanding of ERS components and their integration in Formula 1 powertrains
Proficiency in procurement software and supplier management systems
Experience with contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
Knowledge of FIA regulations regarding energy recovery systems
Familiarity with technical specifications of ERS components
Experience in Formula 1 or high-performance motorsport procurement, particularly with electric or hybrid powertrains
