We are looking for a seasoned Senior Estimator with a focus on electrical contracting to lead and manage all aspects of estimating for complex electrical projects. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate, timely estimates, analyzing costs, managing bid proposals, and working closely with the project management and field teams to ensure project success from estimation through execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the estimating department and manage all aspects of the electrical estimating process.
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Analyze project specifications and drawings to assess the scope and risks.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate estimates that align with project goals.
Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and terms.
Review and validate bids and proposals submitted to clients to ensure accuracy.
Monitor project budgets and make adjustments to estimates as necessary during the lifecycle of the project.
Assist in the development and implementation of estimating procedures and systems to improve efficiency.
Stay current on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Manage and mentor junior estimators and provide guidance for professional growth.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical estimating, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Minimum 5 years estimating electrical packages on Multifamily projects (MUST HAVE)
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction processes.
Proficiency with estimating software (Must have)
Excellent knowledge of local codes, regulations, and electrical industry standards.
Ability to analyze complex documents, identify risks, and develop cost-effective solutions.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Estimator or LEED Accreditation) are a plus.
