Job Summary: The Manufacturing Production Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of a production team to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of goods. This role involves supervising team members, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining adherence to safety and quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production team members to ensure efficient operations and high-quality output.
Production Coordination: Assign tasks to team members, monitor progress, and ensure that daily production goals and deadlines are met.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce and promote safety procedures, ensure the team adheres to safety regulations, and identify areas for improvement in the safety process.
Quality Control: Monitor production quality, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with established quality standards and procedures.
Problem-Solving: Resolve operational issues and challenges, and escalate to management when necessary to ensure minimal disruption to production.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the team and other departments to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Communication: Maintain clear communication with management, production staff, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and alignment with overall production objectives.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, report on performance metrics, and provide feedback for performance reviews.
Training: Provide ongoing training to new and existing team members on proper procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills to address operational challenges.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret production orders, manuals, and blueprints.
Proficient in using basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office) and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).
Basic math skills (e.g., measurements, calculations) to support production activities.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications in manufacturing or leadership is a plus.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs regularly, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in varying temperature and noise conditions typical of a production floor.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
