Responsibilities
Actively search for and identify potential customers in utility space through various methods like email campaigns, cold calling, social outreach, and market research.
Evaluate potential leads based on their needs, budget, and decision-making authority to determine if they are a good fit for the company's products or services.
Conduct conversations with prospects to understand their business challenges and identify potential opportunities.
Provide relevant marketing materials and information to prospects throughout the process.
Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure seamless lead flow and alignment with sales strategies.
Grow the sales pipeline by 25% by identifying new opportunities within the municipal and cooperative sectors.
Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market feedback.
Identify channels to market and partnership opportunities across the global footprint.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 plus years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
Minimum of 5 plus years of experience with the Utility sector.
Proven experience closing complex business transactions.
Strong experience interfacing with execution teams to understand and anticipate the typical problems the engineering teams run into when executing solutions that involve hardware, communications, software, etc.
Strong presentation skills for both internal executive and external customer-facing meetings.
Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively engage with potential customers.
Ability to articulate the value proposition of the company's products or services and overcome objections.
Capability to identify and research potential leads through various channels.
Ability to analyze data and metrics to identify trends and optimize sales strategies.
Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude when facing challenges.
Ability to accommodate up to 50% travel.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
