Maintenance Leader- Plastics

*This is a Nationwide search and may require relocation*

SUMMARY

Oversees and directs maintenance operations, ensuring the repair, upkeep, and installation of machinery, tools, and equipment, as well as the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems within an industrial setting. This role involves direct management of maintenance personnel and coordination of tasks to ensure operational efficiency. Some travel may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead and supervise maintenance teams, setting priorities for equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and daily tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Oversee the upkeep of manufacturing assets, manage equipment inventory, approve purchase orders and invoices, and control departmental budgets.
  • Coordinate with teams to fabricate, modify, or enhance machinery and tools to improve production processes.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews and assess employee productivity.
  • Implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Organize external activities, including inspections, contractor oversight, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Foster a productive and safe work environment for all staff.
  • Monitor financials related to maintenance operations, ensuring cost efficiency in labor, materials, and repair expenses.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and generate reports on daily activities.
  • Establish and uphold quality, safety, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Develop and refine preventative maintenance strategies in collaboration with engineering teams and technical staff.
  • Inspect equipment performance to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and maximize labor and material utilization.
  • Assess equipment requirements for new product lines and collaborate with engineers to modify existing machinery.
  • Work closely with management, engineering, and quality teams to resolve maintenance challenges and improve equipment conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • 5 years of supervision experience.
  • Plastics experience is preferred , but if you have a strong knowledge of maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment that have AC electric motors, DC drives, air compressors, chillers, grinders, water pumps, PLC/HMI controls, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics experience we are considering other industrial backgrounds
  • OSHA and SAP experience is a plus
  • Direct involvement with Preventative Maintenance programs, Predictive Maintenance Programs, Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS).
  • Direct involvement with safety systems as it relates to maintenance (supervision), such as LOTO.
