The Role
Wood is currently seeking a Senior Process Architect- SME to join our Life Sciences (Biotechnology / Pharmaceuticals) team to develop life-changing and in many cases, life-saving solutions for our clients. This position will be responsible for collaborating with our Global Life Science teams in both Melbourne, Australia and Milan, Italy. While assisting in the development of the Life Sciences business in North America, this candidate will coordinate with our Process Engineering department to provide sound design solutions for our clients. This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering.

This position can be based out of either the Philadelphia, PA or Morrisville, NC office. Our Hybrid model has employees in the office 3 days a week with remote work 2 days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities
Provides Process Architecture expertise to the Wood Life Science Line of Business
Provides Process Architecture technical support to the Wood Architectural and Engineering teams
Provides planning, programming, feasibility and concept design expertise to our clients
Actively participates in industry forums and trade shows
Supports the sales team with proposals and client presentations
Cultivates and develops client relationships
Coordinates with our Process Engineering department to provide sound design solutions for our clients
Coordinates with our global Life Science offices
Mentors the architectural design team
Lead the architectural department staff and delegate work assignments.
Leads, guides, and directs the architectural team through all phases of design: initial programming, planning, feasibility & concept development, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction documentation.
Build and develop a robust architectural department staff
Oversees development of architectural department standards
Oversees quality control of architectural deliverables
Coordinates and collaborates on architectural deliverables with Global Life Science offices
May serve as the Architect of Record on key projects
Helps to establish a culture of technical excellence through role modelling and communicating expectations.
Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
Bachelor of Architecture (5-year program) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) from an accredited NAAB university
Architectural licensure and NCARB certification are required.
More than 15 years of applicable experience in facility design and planning.
Industry expert in Process Architecture with proven track record of success.
Expert knowledge of cGMPs and regulatory requirements is required.
Working knowledge of the following software packages (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft office & Sketchup)
