COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. Sr. Network-Telecom Admin Pay Range - $85,800.00 - $109,450.00

We’re seeking a Senior Network-Telecom Administrator to support and grow our critical network infrastructure, enabling smooth and secure communications across the grid. As a Senior Network-Telecom Administrator, you will be responsible for the advanced administration and support of the networking, security, and telecommunications resources that keep SPP running smoothly. This is a hands-on, technical role where you will be responsible for overseeing a range of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP devices, and more. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth communication between members, troubleshooting complex issues, and leading projects that drive our network growth and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Network Infrastructure Installation & Management: Lead the installation and management of network infrastructure, both hardware and software, ensuring SPP's critical services are operational at all times.

  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution of network/telecom/security issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Day-to-Day Admin: Oversee and administer routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and other network devices to ensure optimal performance.

  • Core Services Administration: Administer critical network services like voice, conferencing, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, and security services like firewall access, VPNs, IDS/IPS, MFA, and more.

  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, while also leading complex projects and ensuring adherence to schedules and milestones.

  • Project Management: Coordinate and communicate with vendors, SPP member companies, and internal IT groups to lead projects, allocate resources, and maintain progress reporting.

  • Best Practices & Standards: Ensure adherence to industry best practices for network/telecom/security architecture, and continuously improve systems for reliability and scalability.

  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support as needed.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate plans and procedures across all IT groups and other SPP departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.


To be successful as our Sr. Network-Telecom Admin, we're looking for:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field, or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of six years network infrastructure support experience is required

  • Intermediate knowledge of technologies across multiple network, network security and telecommunications platforms

  • Intermediate Network and/or Telecommunications certifications required

  • Intermediate Network Security related certifications are required

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential


Preferred:


  • Previous experience with NERC, FERC, CIP and SSAE16 is preferred

  • A variety of experience in Information Technology field projects is preferred

  • Intermediate Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, , Checkpoint and F5 experience is preferred

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type, Location, and Hours:

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours potentially required.

Travel Requirement:

This position requires minimal travel (approximately 110%).
