Salary: $105,000.00 USD Annually - $115,000.00 USD Annually

Description:
Our client, a Fortune 100 Food Distributor, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to oversee Occupational Health and Safety for two facilities, including a cross-dock in Piscataway, NJ, and Fleet Safety for their drivers. This is a critical role reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources and supervising a Safety Coordinator. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and legal compliance, while continuously improving safety policies and programs.



Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer and develop OSHA, EPA, DOT, FMCSA, USDA/USDC/FDA, AIB, and other safety programs.
  


• Perform accident reporting, safety training, and audits.


• Ensure compliance with safety standards, reduce lost days, and minimize OSHA recordable incidents.


• Monitor safety costs and implement effective risk management strategies.


• Coordinate with physicians for medical interventions and manage worker's compensation claims.


• Foster a culture of trust and openness through strong interpersonal relationships.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred).


• 
  6+ years of Occupational and Fleet/Driver safety experience.
  


• 
  2+ years as a Safety Manager (or strong Supervisor with safety experience).
  


• Experience in Fleet Safety/DOT Compliance (Keller DQ a plus).


• Risk-based safety experience, including Worker's Compensation investigations.


• Experience with Driver Management Systems (Smith System a plus).


• Certifications such as CSP, ARM, etc., are a plus.


• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
