Schedule: 4/10 Hour Shifts (Mon to Thur) Off Fri-Sun
Job Outlook:
The VP of Engineering Projects will manage projects and programs typically exceeding $10M in total cost. This role involves independent planning, scheduling, and control of activities. The VP will lead project teams of more than ten people, often handling multidiscipline projects and programs with high complexity, risk, and financial investment. Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing project priorities and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all project aspects within the scope of responsibility.
- Directing activities of multidisciplinary project teams and maintaining a broad knowledge of new technologies and industry trends.
- Monitoring project management processes and recommending improvements for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Managing project budgets in close collaboration with the finance organization and project controls group.
- Coordinating with other project and line managers.
- Coaching and mentoring other project managers and acting as a supervisor/manager when required.
Qualifications:
- PMP certification.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, with 20 years of experience in a technical field; OR an AA/AS degree with 22 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 24 years of experience.
- RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certification.
- Project Management certification.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
- Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including budget management, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, industrial and nuclear safety, clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource loading, risk management, and work execution.
- Develop and manage project budgets, track costs versus budget, and ensure proper progress through frequent client and stakeholder interactions.
- Develop and manage contracts and interface with vendors.
- Create project schedules that manage risk, track progress, enforce accountability, and manage critical path and float.
- Mentor less experienced project managers.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.
- Develop and maintain long-range plan strategies for assigned projects.
- Support the effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
- Provide outage support, including OCC.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Expert in error reduction and human performance improvement methods, and cost-effective work execution methodologies.
- Proficient in managing complex projects, on-line work management, or refueling and forced outage-related activities.
- Advanced project management techniques at commercial nuclear power plants or similar facilities.
