Responsibilities

While RS&H was founded in 1941, we have been providing construction management services as one of our primary business practices since 1984.  RS&H’s Transportation-Construction Management Practice serves numerous state departments of transportation, mobility/transportation authorities, turnpike/toll authorities, rail/port authorities, municipal/county governments, and private clients throughout the United States. Our Construction Engineering and Inspections (CEI) teams as well as our Construction Management teams are industry leading experts who provide a full range of construction engineering, program management, specialized testing, and inspection services from the preconstruction phase through maintenance and operations.  By joining our team, you too can provide unique expertise in the full life cycle of transportation delivery, and lead the evolution of transportation.



Qualifications



 

RS&H is currently seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) team in Asheville and Henderson, NC. As part of the Bridge Inspection and Construction Management team, you will play an integral role in supporting managers and project teams by providing high-level administrative and clerical assistance. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced administrative support for one or more managers, including exposure to sensitive and confidential information.
  • Compile, organize, and maintain project documents and reports to support Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) and HiCAMS teams.
  • Order and manage office and field equipment and supplies to support project operations.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, safety luncheons, travel arrangements, and appointments.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, agreements, and contract documents as needed.
  • Take meeting minutes and distribute to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring accessibility and accuracy of records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for visitors and provide office coordination as needed.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting expense reports and processing invoices.
  • Adapt to changing priorities while ensuring all administrative duties are handled efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant administrative experience required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams to build strong working relationships.
  • Experience working in a construction, engineering, or technical office environment is a plus.
