Your Role:
The Glass Technician 1 in Bellefonte, PA completes a variety of manual tooling operations in the fabrication of glass fittings and related apparatus used in the manufacture of glass products under supervision. Specific job duties include:
Receives and interprets work orders
Uses bench crossfire, torches, hand rollers and hand forming tools to form various shapes and configurations from glass tubing and rod
Assists in the instruction of co-workers when requested by the supervisor
Operates and maintains necessary tools, equipment and apparatus used in glass tooling parts production
Maintains a clean, neat, and well-organized work area
Speak with internal customers daily
Physical Requirements:
Capable of bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling low to moderate weight
Sufficient manual dexterity to perform the required job tasks.
Occasional use of ladders and steps
Capable of seeing and hearing within normal limits.
Operates laboratory apparatus
Wears appropriate personal protective equipment.
Works in a laboratory setting where chemicals are used
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of glass working operations and techniques
Experience operating and maintaining related tools, equipment and apparatus used in glass tooling parts production
Uses considerable skill and judgment in hand glass fabrication techniques.
Operates standard office equipment, including phone and PC
2 + years of experience in glass working operations and techniques
