Job Description:

Hays is working with a phenomenal growing civil general contractor. This is a medium-sized family-owned civil contractor who is looking to add a Project Engineer to their team. They work on NYCDDC, MTA, and NYSDOT design-build projects valued over 100 million dollars. They pay for health care fully and offer a 401k, car allowance, and yearly bonus. Responsibilities:


• Manage and oversee all aspects of construction projects from planning to the closeout of the projects.


• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards


• Develop project plans, including project scope, schedule, and budget


• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project plans, safety regulations, and city regulations.


• Communicate with subcontractors, clients, vendors, government agencies, and consultants to ensure work is done smoothly and correctly.


• Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, progress reports, and material purchase orders.


• Ensure project closeout activities are completed, including final inspections, punch lists, and project turnover


Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field


• 10 plus years of experience in project management in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor


• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes


• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills


• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


• Proficient in Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, Primavera, and Microsoft Office Suite
