Job Summary
Ellison 12, Adult Medical unit has 36-bed and located in Boston, MA,. The unit is devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care.
The Medical unit is seeking a permanent administrative professional, with weekly night availability. They must have the ability to provide rotational holiday and weekend coverage on a busy clinical unit.
Qualifications
As a Unit Coordinator,
- You will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff.
- You will transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that the medical treatments and procedures are carried out and order supplies for the unit.
- Acts as the central contact person for the nursing unit; performs transcription, clerical and reception duties; and will become an expert user in Epic.
- Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee to coordinate the non-nursing/non-clinical activities essential to the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
- The position will require a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.
Schedule
- Nights 7pm-7:30am, 11pm-7:30am
- Rotating Holiday and weekend schedule
- Must provide (4) shifts every week.

Required: High School diploma or Graduate equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree; Epic experience.
- Medical or health care experience desirable, but willing to train qualified and willing candidates.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers
- Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems.
