Sr Process Development Engineer
How will you make an impact? As the Sr Process Development Engineer you will manage all Machine Support activities and supervise Machine Support personnel.
JOB SUMMARY
Administrates several activities within the Machine Support group. Acts as Subject Matter Expert on equipment preventative maintenance and other Machine Support functions. Trains Machine Support Technicians, Machine Operators, and others on equipment operation, maintenance, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees all Machine Support personnel including staffing and scheduling of tasks and assignments
Administrates preventative maintenance program for equipment owned by Manufacturing Engineering
Performs activities associated with asset tracking and de-commissioning for department owned equipment
Coordinates and executes calibration and verification activity for assigned tooling and gauges
Creates work instructions, visual aids, and forms to support execution of preventative maintenance, lockout-tagout, and other Machine Support functions
Completes sampling, analysis, and reporting of solder used in production equipment
Assists Machine Support Supervisor in scheduling of tasks and assignments
Works with cross-functional teams to resolve production-related issues
Works with machine vendors relative to equipment upgrades, problems, and part requirements
Performs basic and complex production equipment maintenance, repair, and scheduled preventative maintenance
Maintains sufficient stock of spare parts, tracks usage and reorders as needed
Trains Machine Support Technicians in machine repair, maintenance techniques and trains Machine Operators and others on new and existing gear
Assists with the development and certification of Machine Operators and assists Engineers and others when needed
How will you get here?
Education:
BS in Engineering discipline required
Experience:
At least 8 years of relevant work experience in a SMT Manufacturing environment is required.
Proven experience in operation and maintenance of Surface mounting technology equipment (from Laser mark, screen printer, SPI, Pick & place, reflow oven, router, selective & wave solder)
A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience is required.
Experience on Conformal Coating and Selective and wave solder equipment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to utilize advanced tools and follow procedures for maintaining manufacturing controls.
Must obtain and maintain specified Machine Support certifications
Ability to work under tight deadlines with frequently changing priorities and interruptions
Advanced troubleshooting, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and equipment diagrams is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
May be required to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs. (Team Lift)
Required vision abilities include close vision and extended use of computer monitor
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primary work area is located in the office area, with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor
The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate
Occasional Travel (Domestic & International)
