Position Purpose:
Responsible for Accounts Payable tracking, recording and analyzing. Responsible for the monthly journal entries for various intercompany payables as well as the year end accruals and reconciliations of AP. Is the primary back up for Accounts receivable and related month end closing processes
Essential Functions:
• Manages daily AP recording, updating, management and communication with the purchasing and receiving department to investigate discrepancies. Maintains a good relationship with various vendors and ensures timely communication of concerns.
• Records the journal entries for Worker's compensation, Insurance, Benefits and other Inter Company liabilities and ensures that all AP liabilities and expenses are recorded/accrued/paid accurately.
• Responsible for the AP Journal Entries recorded for the monthly closing process.
• Responsible for the coordination of expense submission of the employees in Concur, their timely audit and submission for approval.
• Monitoring the expenditure on various P cards and ensuring that they meet the guidelines as established by the Finance Manual.
• Assists in the monthly close process as required.
• Completes the AP Reconciliations in a timely manner after the month has been closed.
• Maintains and updates the AP Monthly close checklist.
• Maintains and updates the Cash Disbursements account.
• Assists with the travel requirements and the arrangements for credit card for the employees, when required.
• Assists in Costing activities as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance.
Education and Training
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 1-year experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Qualifications
• Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheet applications and ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
