Vertiv is seeking an Electrical Engineer (PCB) to design and layout assemblies involving Printed Circuit Boards. May include digital, analog, and mixed technology including double-sided and multi-layered processes. This role will work independently to develop, assist in maintaining Library Component database, Component obsolesce management, and advise other team members about their use and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Involvement with engineering design team members in selecting appropriate components based on engineering requirements.
Assist in identifying components that meet specifications, and performance.
Must possess technical expertise in reading schematics, drawings, and datasheets.
Interface with manufacturers and suppliers to source components.
Design and layout of complex Printed Wiring Boards, surface mount and thru-hole technology, using multilayer designs.
Understand app notes for components using circuit configuration.
Adherent to industry standards and regulations (IPC, RoHS, JEDEC, REACH, UL).
Assist at times to create and maintain component library databases, schematic symbols, and component land patterns.
Mechanical design aptitude.
Personal computer skills and or CAD related skills
Collaborate with PCB designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to address component-related issues.
Develop and adhere to construction and task schedules.
Knowledge about various soldering processes - e.g. Wave Soldering, SMT Reflow soldering etc.
Knowledge in IEEE standards for schematic symbol creation, PCB Library Creation as per IPC SM-7351 a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
The electronics industry is constantly evolving, so staying updated with new components and technologies is essential.
Ability to analyze and solve technical issues with limited or no supervision.
Requirements:
1-3 years experience with any CAD design software with specific board wiring expertise.
BSEE or equivalent or related technical degree (military certification to be equivalent to educational requirement.)
Siemens EDM Mentor Graphics design capture and Mentor Graphics VX2.4 or higher printed circuit design CAD experience preferred.
