Job Title:Clinical Research AssistantDepartment:CCC | Comprehensive Cancer Center

Functions as a Clinical and Translational Research Assistant providing support to the Immune Monitoring Discovery Platform (IMDP) in the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) and to our clinical trial partners; identifies appropriate patients from clinical schedules; discusses research studies with patients and obtains consent; supports participant recruitment and the implementation of strategies to ensure recruitment; coordinates and tracks collection of patient research samples (blood, urine, tissue biopsies); assists in collection of research data; performs data collection with electronic medical record chart review; Assists with collection, entering and maintaining clinical research data into study database (CLIMBS, REDCAP); coordinates and tracks study communication with participants; performs data entry and prepares study reports; oversees and maintains accurate records of research activities; maintains Institutional Review Board approvals and regulatory documentation; provides support in planning and implementing programmatic activities; serves as a liaison with research team and other departments; works closely with and supports trainees/students, data analyst, biostatistician, clinic staff, and principal investigator in their research efforts; attends research team meetings; assists with analysis of research results; participates in planning, designing, and execution of translational research studies; conducts critical analysis of research literature; develops plans and resource tools to meet requirements of new protocols; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; assists principal investigator with the preparation and submission of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; co-authors manuscripts; if interested, may participate in processing/storage of patient research samples (blood, urine, fixed tissue); if interested, may learn basic biostatistical analyses for clinical and translational research projects; performs other duties as assigned by PI.



MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience required. 0 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
