Position Summary:

The Clinical Assistant Professor position will be in theDepartment of Internal Medicine.  This position is actively involved in patient care andteaching medical students and residents at College ambulatory clinics, as wellas the hospital inpatient service and telehealth service.  Appropriate effort in scholarly activity andservice will be expected.  Professionalexperience of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rankof Clinical Assistant Professor is required.



Principle Duties andResponsibilities:

70% Clinical:
Attending physician in the in-patientservice on a rotating schedule. Attending physician in the outpatient clinics(Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine Specialty Services) on a rotatingschedule Attending physician on inpatient telehealth consultations. Servicesoffered would be based on experience/ ability.


20% Training:
Work with Internal MedicineResidents through the practice to further their education. The successfulcandidate will provide direct oversight for Internal Medicine Residentsproviding patient care. The successful candidate will be expected to developand implement an ambulatory care curriculum for residents and medical students.The successful candidate will participate in Morning Report, Harrison's BookClub, Board Review, and other didactic activities as needed.


10% Administrative:
Other duties as assigned bythe Chair of Internal Medicine Department.  These duties could include inpatient coverage on a periodic basis,classroom teaching, and committee assignments.



Environmental Hazards:


Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.



Physical Requirements:


Ability to lift, carrypush, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk,hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonableaccommodations.

Education & Experience Position Qualifications:


Qualifications:

DO or MD degree, eligibility forlicensure in the state of Oklahoma, Board Certification in Internal Medicine(board eligibility).
Completion of an ACGME Internal Medicine residency. One to three years practice experience preferred. 
Valid Driver's License 



Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge: Must have a devoted interest in education.  Knowledge of all areas related to the department workflow. Theposition requires strong analytical skills, advanced multi-tasking skills, andadvanced problem-solving skills. Computer skills are needed to operateelectronic medical records. Good communication and leadership skills are positive.  Interpersonal skills are required to interacteffectively with faculty, students, clients and providers.



Preferred:

Experience in HIV medicine preferred.
HIVcertification through the AAHIVM preferred.
