Title: Assistant Director, Student Success Center
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of the Student Success Center will provide leadership and strategic direction for student success and advising activities. This role is designed to enhance the student advising experience through effective staff development, strategic planning, and collaboration with academic departments and campus resources. The Assistant Director will support the Director in managing the Student Success Center's initiatives, focusing on improving student retention, engagement, and academic performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Student Success Advisors, ensuring high standards of advising services. Coordinate training sessions and workshops for academic advisors to improve their advising skills and knowledge. Evaluate the performance of academic advisors and provide constructive feedback to enhance their effectiveness. Ensure consistency in advising practices across the team and maintain alignment with institutional policies and goals. Serve as the main point of contact for advising-related inquiries and escalations, providing guidance and resolution to complex advising issues.
Oversee the development and implementation of strategies aimed at improving student retention and graduation rates. Develop and maintain strong relationships with academic departments to ensure alignment with advising practices and academic policies. Collaborate with faculty and staff to address student concerns, track academic progress, and facilitate early interventions when necessary. Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for student success in alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of higher education experience in student services/advising.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year of Community College Experience.
Two years of prior supervisory or team leadership experience related to professional advising, guidance and/or counseling that included oversight of a student program or service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or appropriate alternative software to the extent required to effectively perform the essential functions. Communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to inform or persuade the intended audience. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as required.

Rate of Pay: $47,798.00 - $59,748.00 depending on experience
