Job Summary/Basic Function: The digital marketing specialist will work with a cross-functional team of creative professionals in the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies that encourage students to explore campus opportunities, build strong connections, and ultimately increase their feeling of belonging. The successful candidate will develop innovative and effective digital student journeys within our current digital marketing ecosystem, which includes, email marketing via the Salesforce Marketing Cloud, digital advertising, and social media marketing to drive increased student engagement and retention. This position will schedule project meetings, and maintain creative briefs that outline key deliverables and establish project goals and outcomes. This position will manage established data visualization marketing tools, like LookerStudio to measure and report the performance of all SCM marketing campaigns. Additionally, this position will identify trends and insights, and optimize tactics and performance based on experience and data analytics. Department Overview: Join the Boise State Student Communications and Marketing team as we help students connect to the campus community, explore opportunities, and find their place at Boise State University. We're looking for a digital marketing specialist to oversee all aspects of strategic digital marketing efforts for multiple student and family audiences. This role requires a solid understanding of digital marketing systems and best practices, and experience implementing marketing plans across various platforms, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, WordPress, and social media. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees. Essential Functions: 60% of Time the Digital Marketing Specialist must:
Develop and implement digital marketing strategies: Create comprehensive strategies aligned with university and divisional objectives, targeting current student audiences and evaluating ROI.
Organic Search Optimization: Conduct keyword research, optimize website content and structure, build backlinks, and track SEO performance to improve organic search rankings.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Manage paid advertising campaigns on platforms like Google Ads, conducting keyword research, writing ad copy, and optimizing campaigns for conversions.
Social Media Marketing: Develop and execute social media strategies, create engaging content, manage social media communities, run social media advertising campaigns, and analyze performance metrics.
Email Marketing: Create and manage email marketing campaigns, segment audiences, develop email content, track email metrics, and optimize campaigns for engagement and conversions.
Website Analytics: Monitor website traffic, user behavior, and conversion rates using tools like Google Analytics, identify areas for improvement, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Reporting and Analysis: Manage regular reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) leveraging data visualization marketing tools, like LookerStudio and Akero, analyze campaign performance, and provide insights to improve future campaigns.
Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in digital marketing.
Collaborate: Work closely with other team members (campus partner, design, content, etc.) to ensure marketing campaigns are aligned with overall university objectives.

Development of student journeys and list segmentation based on marketing automation tools and lead scoring
Utilizing AI optimizing technology, including advanced personalization, subject line alterations, and dynamic UX layouts
Management of companion software/services to provide consistency and proper data alignment within SFMC
UTM tracking/HTML/CSS
Creating and executing digital marketing campaigns that include email, targeted digital, social media advertising, and more
Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness and seek continual improvements of marketing and communication initiatives.
Strong knowledge of AP style for composing and editing editorial and promotional content
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and customers across departments.
Demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership and strong problem-solving skills in identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
A strong student-centric outlook to prioritize student engagement and client satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to generate, cultivate and maintain business relationships with various sets of stakeholders and demonstrate strong communication skills.
Must be able to work independently, make decisions and problem solve.
Ability to compose written material with a succinct message and free of spelling or grammatical errors.
Good knowledge of: digital marketing systems and design best practices; developing and implementing communication and marketing plans, and project coordination.
Experience: implementing marketing and communication plans across various platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, university website, social media as well as computer literacy using creative suite software.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience or equivalent Salary and Benefit s:
