Hours: Generally 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (flex as needed).


The base rate of pay is $29.20/hour. Team members must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as needed. This position is eligible for overtime pay.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Serves as a team leader for both Cook/Pack (primarily) and Formulation, providing functional supervision for other members of the work unit

  • Assists in the set-up and tear-down operations and upkeep of production lines

  • Trains or facilitates training of team members

  • Prepares and maintains production reports

  • Serves as a communication conduit between team members and management, including communicating company/line objectives to team members, daily information/updates, and helping to resolve questions/concerns of team members

  • Coordinates team member schedules to meet business needs

  • Operates forklift in a safe and effective manner, frequently

  • Reports safety and policy violations for corrective measures

  • Completes all required paperwork and reports and performs data entry

  • Assists and maintains product flow in the event of down time

  • Communicates maintenance needs within the department

  • Provides breaks to other team members, as needed

  • All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety

  • Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations

  • Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)

  • Performs other duties, as assigned




Job Requirements:



  • At least one (1) year of experience in food manufacturing preferred

  • At least three (3) months of experience with inventory control methods, preferred

  • At least three (3) months of experience safely operating a forklift preferred, and ability to become forklift certified within 30 days of hire with Tyson required (Tyson provides training and certification)

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and communicate via email

  • Ability to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness

  • Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively with all team members and management

  • Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as needed

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and function well under stress

  • Ability to work on and off a forklift 8-10 hours a day

  • Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed

  • Ability to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm to cold/freezing, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas

  • Ability to climb up and down stairs/ladders to get to/from work areas, and work at elevated levels of various heights and in confined spaces, if needed

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, across, and below, and at shoulder level

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level

  • Must be able to use both arms/hands and legs/feet to operate forklifts or electric pallet and hand jacks

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, flex/grip with wrists/hands, and use tools (e.g., box knife, metal scraper)

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves
