We are onboarding interns in the following key business areas:
Weld Engineering - Interns will join a company that is one on the leading edge of weld technology and employs hundreds of welders committed to building our nation’s defense shipbuilding fleet. Weld Engineering Intern candidates must be excited about building their career in a growing industry, and at a company that is exceptional at what we do. Enrollment in a Welding Engineering degree program, or in a closely related Engineering program required.
Inspectors – Our NTD Inspector Interns gain hands-on experience supporting our team of inspectors to ensure we are maintaining high standards of quality and safety. These interns will work alongside seasoned professionals and must be eager to develop valuable skills focused on precision and excellence.
Human Resources - Kickstart your career in Human Resources with an internship that offers real-world experience in recruitment, employee engagement, and organizational development. Our HR interns will gain insight into the heart of the business here at Rhoads – our people.

Qualifications for the EPIC Summer Internship
Attention to detail – must be able to spot when processes don’t comply with guidance and provide alternative suggestions. Must be able to read and interpret the details of external guidance and industry regulations.
Critical/logical thinking – must identify problems but also be able to help provide novel solutions to ensure efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process.
Excellent written communication – concise and accurate written documentation is essential. Also required to review internal and external guidance and potentially write company procedures.
Organizational skills – needed to keep track of testing, results, documentation, and recommendations.
Ability to communicate requirements in an industrial environment, and to give effective direction by using written and/or verbal skills where appropriate.
Proficient in Microsoft 365.
