POSITION SUMMARY
Learns from and supports superintendent on all aspects of field operations and project management. Learns and supports set-up and planning, schedule, budget management, materials and supplies, and quality control. Supports superintendent with management of field associates, project staffing, field coordination, ensuring safety and attending meetings. Helps superintendent to ensure work is being performed within budget, on schedule, and according to plans and specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
Familiarizes and assists with implementation of site-specific safety plan.
Assists with weekly site safety walk-through.
Leads by example and ensures safety is the highest priority on the Project.
Understands ORMs process and supporting documentation required.
Assists with Safety Orientations and Safety Stand Downs.
Learns scope specific trade partner safety requirements and supports implementation.
Reviews Hazardous Building Material Survey(s) prior to start of work.
Participates in High-Risk Activity review and helps with preliminary planning for each.
Logistics, Self-Perform & Building Performance Solutions
Understands and familiarizes with the Logistics Center and equipment utilization plan.
Assists with schedule, coordination, and unit tracking of field craft and self-perform tasks.
Familiarizes with Building Performance Solutions services and supports the usage onsite.
Participates in implementation of QAQC site specific plan.
Assists in identifying non-conforming work, tracking and correction.
Assists with overall mock-up process, develops a plan, and ensures implementation.
Participates in preinstallation meetings with trade partners prior to commencing work.
Field Management & Controls
Assists in securing project, following site logistic plan, and maintaining company branding.
Assists and supports in overall project documentation processes.
Conducts regular photo documentation as required.
Supports team in OAC and weekly Progress Meetings.
Familiarizes and participates in overall implementation and compliance of the SWPPP.
Familiarizes with the building control points and utility locates.
Understands FWD process.
Ensures project site is clean, organized and representative of McCownGordon expectations.
Organizes and executes punch list process and assists with close out.
Familiarizes with the overall schedule management processes.
Supports the preconstruction process, project set up and planning.
Develops an understanding of owner contract, risk, deliverables, and terms and conditions.
Familiarizes with overall project budget and participates in cost review meetings.
Relationships
Builds and maintains superior relationships with clients, design team, trade partners, and associates.
Participates in community and professional associations.
Represents the company in a professional manner at all times.
Escalates issues/conflicts to project leadership.
Contributes to a high performing team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Basic knowledge of personal computer and e-mail applications.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, trade partners, or associates.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS
