Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer (PE) will coordinate all engineering tasks, act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) during RFP and Bid Reviews, and assist the Project Leader/Manager in related project tasks.

Key Duties:
  • Ensure project execution prioritizes safety and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Project Leader/Manager to define project scopes and develop written scopes of work, including those for contracted Owner's Engineers (OE).
  • Coordinate with PG Engineering, Station Management, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist in RFP and Bid Review processes.
  • Develop and review engineering specifications for RFPs.
  • Manage the RFI process on behalf of the Project Leader/Manager.

For OE Bids:
  • Review development information and land utilization plans.
  • Assess site design, energy performance, and zoning/land use requirements.

For EPC Bids:
  • Coordinate project information for EPC RFPs and review EPC submissions.
  • Develop project-specific EPC exhibits and confirm AC capacity/design for interconnections.
  • Evaluate EPC proposals, identifying deviations and spec exclusions.
  • Assist in the creation of a Bid Review Matrix and provide guidance on bidder selection.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate engineering queries, reviews, and technical troubleshooting with OE and EPC teams.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables align with contractual agreements.
  • Conduct field reviews for compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Provide expertise and support during startup and commissioning phases.
  • Assist the Project Leader/Manager with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Strong skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and monitor project engineering performance.
  • Experience resolving technical problems and implementing changes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in construction specifications and material requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and instructions while preparing reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Preferred: BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Project Engineer or Project Manager Assistant in a multi-functional team environment.
