Job Description:

Temporary Quality Engineer

Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Certification Requirement: IATF 16949 Compliance, AIAIG Core Tools.

The Temporary Quality Engineer (QE) will be responsible for supporting both internal and external customer Quality-related activities within the company. The QE will be involved in managing 8D reports for customer complaints, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with quality standards, and supporting activities that drive scrap reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the QE will be involved in KPI monitoring, action plan development, and ensuring all metrics are on target for his assigned projects.

8D Reporting & Customer Complaint Management
  • Support the completion of existing 8D reports for both internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments (Production, Supplier Quality, and Engineering) to address root causes and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

Supplier Quality Support
  • Work closely with assigned projects CFT and suppliers to resolve quality issues and support improvement initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of supplier corrective actions where necessary.
  • Internal & Plant Quality Engineering Support
  • Provide technical support in resolving internal quality issues at the plant.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive actions and continuous improvement projects for scrap reduction and increase FPY.
  • Assist in audits (LPA's EHS, 5Ss) and other quality-related assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with IATF 16949.

KPI Monitoring & Action Plan Development
  • Monitor and track key quality performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop action plans to achieve quality targets and improve performance.
  • Ensure all metrics meet the required targets for the duration of the assignment.

Customer Interactions
  • Act as a liaison for customer quality concerns and support effective communication with customers (internal and external).
  • Attend meetings with customers when required, providing updates on quality status and resolving issues as needed.
  • Support on Change Management and APQP/PPAP/PTR activities.

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all quality activities, actions taken, and results.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Quality Manager on quality performance, including the status of open 8Ds, supplier issues, scrap reduction efforts, Change Management and KPI performance.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (preferably in Quality, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a quality engineering role, ideally within the automotive industry or Tier 1 supplier environment.
  • Certifications: IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 certification experience highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with problem-solving tools such as 8D, FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
  • Experience with quality monitoring tools and systems (e.g., SPC, Minitab, or similar).
