1+ years of strong soldering skills with a variety of component types and soldering tools.
IPC Certification or Technical Degree
Proficiency in using Multimeters for various diagnostic and measurement tasks.
Understanding of electronic schematics and ability to troubleshoot circuits.
Job Description
A client in New Orleans is looking for a Hardware Technician to join their team! This role will be very focused on soldering - including using a microscope to solder very small components. Note - this role will have repetitive aspects to it, so to make sure you are comfortable with similar daily tasks. Key responsibilities for this role include: Inspect, diagnose, and repair printed circuit boards (PCBs). Utilize multimeters for diagnostics, to take measurements, and troubleshoot issues. Perform soldering tasks, including but not limited to SMT components, through-hole, and fine-pitch components, which may require hot-air / pre-heating before or during rework. Identify and rectify defects in PCB assemblies, such as cutting and installing fly-wires. Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure they meet operational standards. Document repair processes, findings, and final outcomes. Stay updated with the latest techniques and equipment in electrical rework and soldering.
