Currently for their Florida HQ, we are looking for a Renewable Development Engineer. This role plays a crucial role in the development, design, and implementation of renewable energy projects. This role focuses on optimizing the technical aspects of renewable energy systems, such as wind, solar, and battery storage projects, from the planning and feasibility stages to construction phases. The Renewable Development Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of sustainable energy solutions while meeting performance, regulatory, and safety standards.
The Renewable Development Engineer will:
Conduct thorough site assessments and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage, by evaluating technical, economic, and environmental factors and identifying potential challenges
Perform technical evaluations and modeling (e.g. wind resource assessment, energy production modeling, system performance simulations). Initiate and manage other required studies (noise, visual, shadow flicker, glare, etc.)
Identify potential risks associated with renewable energy development projects and propose mitigation strategies
Design efficient layouts for renewable energy systems that maximize energy generation, minimize environmental and operational impacts, and incorporate resource assessments, regulatory and environmental constraints, and constructability.
Engage and manage external engineering and technical consultants including defining work scope, ensuring work quality, and keeping work on schedule and budget
Review engineering designs and studies throughout the project lifecycle for code compliance, good design practice and constructability
