The Performance Engineer position is a key member of the project team and is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and enhancing the performance of our solar and energy storage systems. This role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and maximum energy output from our assets.

Scope of Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of solar and energy storage systems using SCADA and other data analytics tools.
  • Identify performance trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement through data analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports for stakeholders.

Optimization and Improvement:
  • Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to implement performance optimization strategies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Propose upgrades or modifications to system components to enhance overall efficiency.

Data Management and Reporting:
  • Collect, validate, and manage performance data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Generate periodic performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Utilize data analytics to develop insights and recommendations for performance enhancement.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with project management, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless execution of performance-related initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights and collaborate on performance-related challenges and solutions.
  • Provide training and support to operational staff on performance monitoring tools and methodologies.

Regulatory Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure that all performance monitoring activities comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on best practices and technological advancements in solar and energy storage performance engineering.

Job Skills
  • Base level understanding of the solar/energy storage design and construction process.
  • Excellent time and workload management skills
  • Strong technical aptitude with ability to deliver creative solutions.
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • High degree of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical, mechanical, civil and/or architectural drawings.
  • Strong work ethic with a passion to advance renewable energy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Microsoft Project and Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Background and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in performance engineering or analysis within the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar and energy storage.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, Excel)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
