OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: The Product Engineer - Warranty & Service is responsible for fulfilling the customer service engineering requirements for new and existing transmissions. The Service Product Engineer will be the primary technical contact with the customer, working cross-functionally to ensure product serviceability in the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure technical requirements are defined sufficiently to support customer requests.
Internally manage customer change requests.
Manage service part obsolescence interchangeability, and support lifetime bay analysis.
Support root cause analysis, of returned warranty transmissions and parts.
Manage release of service BOM's and align with customer.
Assesses all engineering changes for serviceability impact and lead related service ECR, BOM activities.
Lead review of customer procedures for service repairs.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Other duties assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS PROFILE:
Professional Background / Basic Qualifications / Work Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2-5 years of automotive experience.
Automotive transmission or driveline systems experience preferred.
Technical Expertise:
Strong personal computer skills required, including experience with MS Office software.
Proficient knowledge of engineering principles, GD&T, DVP&R, APQP and manufacturing processes.
Methodical Competence:
Excellent problem-solving skills, especially with detailed problem analysis and resolution
