Role: Field Engineer - Underground Utility Construction

An established utility contractor specializing in underground utility projects is seeking a Field Engineer to join an active project in Manhattan. This role offers hands-on experience in field operations, with a clear growth path toward managing projects in the future.
Responsibilities:
Track and document billing quantities and completed work accurately.
Work closely with an experienced superintendent to learn field operations.
Support daily site activities and step in when the superintendent is off-site.
Attend and participate in daily toolbox talks.
Ensure all workers are signed in and accounted for at the start of the day.
Monitor daily activities, ensuring accurate tracking for billing purposes.
Collaborate with on-site auditors to verify quantities.
Process and document change orders in the field for office submission.
Properly code invoices to corresponding activities.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree required.
Minimum of a few years of experience in underground utility construction (water, sewer, electric, gas, telecom, etc.).
Strong understanding of grading, reading scopes, and tracking quantities.
Detail-oriented with the ability to learn and take on leadership responsibilities over time.
Experience with Foundation Software is a plus but not required (easy to learn).
Additional Information:
Full-time role based in Manhattan, with projects throughout the five boroughs.
The current field engineer will provide hands-on training before transitioning to another project.
