Overview

The EHS Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of employees within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The EHS Manager will work closely with various departments to foster a culture of safety and risk management across all operations, particularly within construction sites.

Duties
  • Understand and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA regulations and EHS standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with NEC standards.
  • Collaborate with construction management teams to integrate safety protocols into project plans and daily operations.
  • Follow company policy for managing compensation claims and coordinate occupational health programs for employees.
  • Provide training and resources to staff on safety practices, emergency response procedures, and risk management strategies.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and project specific compliance documentation.

Skills
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EHS practices, and compliance management systems.
  • Proficient in risk management techniques related to construction site operations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and convey safety information.
  • Ability to build relationships across departments to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Experience in occupational health initiatives and workers' compensation processes.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.

Experience/Certifications
  • OSHA 30 (required)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in Construction safety (required)
  • Knowledge of Construction-specific Safety, including Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Confined Space, health hazard recognition, PPE and clothing
  • Must have VALID driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • OSHA 500/ STS-C/CHST (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degrees in occupational safety and health or in a safety related field (preferred)
  • First Aid and CPR certified (preferred)
  • Construction Health & Safety Certification (preferred)
