We're currently seeking a Design Project Manager to join our Headquarters team!
The Design Project Manager will collaborate with the Store Development team and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and functional designs for redevelopment and renovation projects. These projects include interior and exterior rebranding, site layout modifications, interior space planning, and tenant improvement work.
In this role, you will oversee the solicitation, review, and execution of contracts with consultants and professionals, such as architects, engineers, and vendors, to successfully investigate, plan, design, engineer, and permit development projects. You will also ensure construction documents comply with company standards and lead coordination efforts between all involved parties.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience managing multiple projects and consultants simultaneously, as well as a strong background in navigating entitlement and permitting processes. You will be expected to meet critical milestones and deadlines while providing regular project updates to stakeholders in a clear and consistent manner.
What You Will Do:
Use established design processes and technologies to create preliminary concepts, draft plans, and sketch designs that effectively communicate ideas.
Present preliminary concepts and designs to team members and stakeholders, refining them based on collective feedback.
Creating technical drawings using AutoCAD to clearly show all changes to existing spaces, while improving the flow, function and aesthetics.
Perform due diligence regarding site zoning and other development restrictions and work closely with municipalities to address local and state code requirements.
Coordinate with project consultants, including architects and engineers, to ensure timely and budget-complaint completion of construction documents while meeting code and zoning requirement to obtain permits.
Create schedules to track progress through design and permitting phases and identify opportunities to expedite processes.
Coordinate with vendors for equipment drawings and specifications.
Review project documents for accuracy and adherence to company standards.
Prepare applications and associated pre-application documents for submittal to municipalities.
Coordinate with consultants, vendors and applicable municipalities throughout the project to ensure that all matters pertaining to the project and schedule are communicated and addressed in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the Development & Construction team to expedite cost estimates and schedules.
Prepare and provide weekly project status reports to communicate with team and stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director.
How You Will Shine:
Associate's degree in CADD, architecture, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial design and project management.
Ability to create design documents that effectively communicate design ideas.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling software.
Proficiency with SketchUp or other 3-D modeling programs a plus.
Experience with Procore a plus.
Experience with Smartsheets a plus.
Experience with project cost estimation.
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deliverables and competing timelines.
Hard working and acts with a sense of urgency to accomplish key objectives.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Car wash experience is a plus.
