The role primarily handles the coordination of LNG loading and discharging operation functions. Must propose and execute changes on cargo scheduling, optimizations, nomination of agents, advisors and surveyors for LNG vessels loading and discharging cargoes in the Americas region and serves as the primary contact between PetroChina LNG commercial team, suppliers and customers LNG operation teams. In addition, the role will also involve support to traders and marketers on commercial activities, market analysis and special projects related to the LNG business in the Americas region.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the operations of LNG cargoes in the Americas, including review of contracts, cargo documents, communication with the operational contacts of customer counterparties and PetroChina's global LNG offices
Develop the process and communication channels with the appropriate companies and entities to obtain the information to execute the program, scheduling and operations of LNG cargoes
Collaborate with traders, originators, and other members or PetroChina's global teams to develop tools to support the control and execution of LNG cargo operations activities including learning and sharing knowledge/experience
Coordinate the contract, registration and commercial relationship with agents, service providers, ports and authorities related to services required for the LNG cargo load and discharge operation. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional agents, service providers, surveyors and port authorities to effectively coordinate contract and registration activities supporting services required for LNG cargo load and discharge operations
Effectively coordinate communication with internal departments (legal, treasury, finance, credit, shipping, among others) and other PetroChina's Global offices for the on-time completion of operations activities related to LNG cargo loads and discharges traded by the company
Support the LNG Analytics activities with other regional offices across the Americas (USA, Brazil, Colombia, Canada and future offices in Latin America)
Support the LNG market intelligence efforts focused on the Americas in coordination with the domestic US Natural Gas Trading team and other regional offices in the Atlantic (Europe and Latin America) and Pacific
Secondary Responsibilities:
Facilitate registration and execution of operational and potential commercial activities such as registration of suppliers and customers, LNG operational service providers, etc.
Support LNG related traders and marketers with business development strategies that can advance commercial negotiations and develop the business
Assist traders and marketers with claims and commercial disputes activities
Skills required:
Bachelor's degree required
At least five years' experience with LNG cargo operations (LNG experience is necessary)
Exposure to international LNG and natural gas commodity markets
Experienced in managing market data and information (Market Analysis)
Established relationship with correlated companies and agents in the LNG business, predominantly in Latin America
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to coordinate with a diverse team in different global regions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Optional: Effective communication skills in Spanish and Portuguese Languages for business related subjects
