Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Manager to oversee the organization's credit risk strategy while supporting lending goals. This role involves developing robust credit policies, conducting in-depth credit analyses, and leading a team to optimize loan performance and compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership & Policy Development
  • Formulate and implement credit policies and procedures aligned with organizational risk appetite and lending objectives
  • Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and industry factors to identify risks and opportunities within the credit portfolio
  • Partner with senior management to set credit limits, guidelines, and performance metrics, ensuring strategic alignment
  • Credit Assessment & Portfolio Oversight
  • Execute thorough credit assessment and underwriting processes for loan applications, ensuring due diligence and policy compliance
  • Monitor portfolio performance, reviewing delinquency rates, charge-offs, and key indicators to refine strategies
  • Collaborate with sales and relationship teams to structure loan proposals that meet credit standards and client needs
  • Team Management & Operational Efficiency
  • Supervise a team of 5 (including Senior Credit Analyst and Corporate Banking Analyst), managing workflow and ensuring timely loan decisions
  • Oversee daily operations, conduct audits to improve department and team performance, and drive process enhancements
  • Manage relationships with internal units (e.g., Lending, Compliance) and external stakeholders (e.g., Customers, Regulators) for loan origination, closing, and compliance
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews, including budget comparisons, proforma analyses, and investment reports
  • Ensure adherence to loan documents, servicing agreements, and regulatory requirements, overseeing I-9 audits and budget compliance
  • Deliver strategic reports to senior management and facilitate external audits, maintaining satisfactory compliance results

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or advanced certification like CFA/CPA preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in credit risk management, with leadership roles in financial services
  • Strong expertise in credit analysis, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven team leadership and strategic initiative skills, with excellent analytical and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Encompass, Moody's Jack Henry (intermediate); fluent in English (Spanish preferred, intermediate)
