We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Manager to oversee the organization's credit risk strategy while supporting lending goals. This role involves developing robust credit policies, conducting in-depth credit analyses, and leading a team to optimize loan performance and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Policy Development
Formulate and implement credit policies and procedures aligned with organizational risk appetite and lending objectives
Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and industry factors to identify risks and opportunities within the credit portfolio
Partner with senior management to set credit limits, guidelines, and performance metrics, ensuring strategic alignment
Credit Assessment & Portfolio Oversight
Execute thorough credit assessment and underwriting processes for loan applications, ensuring due diligence and policy compliance
Monitor portfolio performance, reviewing delinquency rates, charge-offs, and key indicators to refine strategies
Collaborate with sales and relationship teams to structure loan proposals that meet credit standards and client needs
Team Management & Operational Efficiency
Supervise a team of 5 (including Senior Credit Analyst and Corporate Banking Analyst), managing workflow and ensuring timely loan decisions
Oversee daily operations, conduct audits to improve department and team performance, and drive process enhancements
Manage relationships with internal units (e.g., Lending, Compliance) and external stakeholders (e.g., Customers, Regulators) for loan origination, closing, and compliance
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews, including budget comparisons, proforma analyses, and investment reports
Ensure adherence to loan documents, servicing agreements, and regulatory requirements, overseeing I-9 audits and budget compliance
Deliver strategic reports to senior management and facilitate external audits, maintaining satisfactory compliance results
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or advanced certification like CFA/CPA preferred)
8+ years of experience in credit risk management, with leadership roles in financial services
Strong expertise in credit analysis, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
Proven team leadership and strategic initiative skills, with excellent analytical and communication abilities
Proficiency in Encompass, Moody's Jack Henry (intermediate); fluent in English (Spanish preferred, intermediate)
