Under general supervision execute projects that require the creation and evaluation of original design. Participate in the analysis and validation of design and theoretical concepts, working from and adapting a wide range of established research techniques.
Key Deliverables
Create accurate project specifications.
Ensure all engineering documents are up to date.
Develop standard work templates and revision control processes.
Assist in design, development, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems.
Drives continuous improvement by managing projects and recommending techniques to enhance equipment/system/process robustness
Key Activities & Responsibilities
PDD Process: Initiate and manage product design and development to meet specifications.
Collaboration: Participate in design meetings and work within cross-functional teams from concept to production.
Manufacturing Assessments: Conduct assessments to ensure designs align with lean manufacturing principles.
Design Development: Create cost-effective designs and liaise with suppliers for component approval.
Documentation Management: Maintain design history and ensure up-to-date engineering documents.
Standardization: Identify design commonalities for manufacturing efficiency.
Reporting: Generate and present reports on design analyses.
Issue Resolution: Respond to root cause analyses and corrective actions for design issues.
Team Support: Assist peers to meet project deadlines.
Safety: Promote a safe work environment and follow safety regulations.
Required Experience and Competencies
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: 6-10 years in engineering, preferably in assembly and fabrication, particularly with heavy equipment.
Skills:
Continuous improvement and lean practices.
Strong interpersonal and project management abilities.
Proficient in MS Office and AutoDesk Design Suite.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
