The specific duties for the position include the following, at minimum (in support of senior staff members):
Cost estimating at all stages of a project life-cycle - feasibility, concept, through the various design stages to pre-bid, detailed estimates with labor, material and equipment breakdowns
Assisting with change order review & analysis
Applying your working knowledge of architectural, structural and civil disciplines, with ideally general level of understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Assisting in performing bid analysis
Assisting in reviewing monthly payment applications from general contractors
Assisting with providing life-cycle cost analysis and other economic studies
Reconciling cost estimates with those from contractors and other consultants
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in quantity surveying/construction management/engineering or architecture, with the following specific requirements:
1+ years' cost management or related experience on medium to large-scale construction projects
Bachelors' or higher degree in a construction related discipline
Communication and organization skills
Ability to effectively plan, manage time and problem solve
Capacity to work in a team setting with minimal supervision or direction
Attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Experience with estimating and take-off software including but not limited to BlueBeam, OST, Second Generation MCASES (MII), PACES and CostOS is beneficial, but training will be provided as necessary.
