Dispatcher - Jacksonville, FL Vaco | Full-Time | Monday-Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Weekend Rotation) Vaco is hiring a Dispatcher for a growing logistics company in Jacksonville, FL. This position involves coordinating driver schedules, ensuring timely deliveries, and effectively communicating with drivers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be highly organized with excellent customer service skills. Shift:
Monday - Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Weekend rotation every 5th weekend, weekends will eventually be phased out)
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Dispatch drivers based on classification, HOS (Hours of Service), and load factor to ensure on-time delivery.
Assign priority loads to drivers with efficient hours.
Input and update drivers' ETA as provided.
Address inventory issues based on priority and status (SHOW LOADS, CUSTOM/IN-BOND UNITS).
Manage and maintain driver boards, ensuring data matches the system.
Track drivers using GPS and update ETA status.
Research and resolve expired ETAs and driver check-ins.
Reconcile bullpen units with system reports.
Assign spare trucks as needed and process dealer delivery instructions.
Separate and verify paperwork for accurate processing.
Input owner-operator paper logs and balance petty cash.
Process requests to add or delete units from dispatched trips.
Maintain office supplies and notify management when reorders are necessary.
Provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis, once every five weeks.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in achieving company goals and perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred experience with TMW Operating Systems.
Strong knowledge of HOS and DOT regulations.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
