MSM Industries is a leader in precision manufacturing, providing high-quality components for industries that demand excellence. As a trusted partner in aerospace, defense, and commercial manufacturing, we are committed to innovation, efficiency, and delivering superior products. Our collaborative work environment fosters professional growth and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with 2-3 years of experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing mechanical designs, reviewing technical drawings, and ensuring process accuracy. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold engineering standards and support manufacturing excellence. If you have a passion for precision engineering and are looking to advance your career in aerospace and defense, this is the perfect opportunity.
What You'll Do
Own the development of complex mechanical components and assemblies for MSM's advanced materials and signature reduction products, from concept through full-scale production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement assembly and manufacturing procedures that adhere to best engineering practices, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability in production.
Establish and refine process control documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards, optimizing product efficiency, consistency, and manufacturing throughput.
Define requirements and conduct trade studies to optimize designs for radar absorption, vibration damping, thermal control, and mechanical performance.
Perform hand calculations and FEA to analyze and refine composite structures, shielding materials, gaskets, and other precision-engineered components.
Lead design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance optimization.
Prototype and test advanced materials such as carbon fiber composites, high-temperature silicones, urethanes, and reinforced fabrics, iterating based on test results.
Conduct root cause analyses for material and hardware failures, implementing corrective actions for both development and production environments.
Balance operational requirements across various vehicle and system subsystems while optimizing for weight, durability, manufacturability, and performance.
Support critical demonstrations of MSM's radar-absorbing, vibration-damping, and shielding solutions for defense and aerospace customers.
Travel to test sites and suppliers as needed to ensure seamless integration and validation of MSM's materials and components.
Required Qualifications
