Role Overview
The primary function of this role is to support the Product Development team in delivering new innovation with 360 management of all product development timelines and communication while also maintaining basic business needs including artwork, testing, and samples. Directly reports to the Product Development Director collaborates closely with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Creative Design, and Regulatory) and external vendors to support new project timelines and their execution. This role manages all aspects of artwork, packaging, and testing. Assists in the planning and tracking the new product processes, projects related to global expansion.

Reports to: Director of Product Development

Roles & Responsibilities but not limited to:
• Lead internal & external communication with cross-functional departments as it relates to new product briefs with marketing feedback, formula and packaging evaluation on submissions, future copy and claims on packaging, and regulatory registration deliverables
• Full ownership in the management and communication of active development project Smartsheet timelines and send out bi-weekly recaps to cross-functional teams. Act as liaison between cross-functional teams and external vendors for communication and follow-through latest status and tracking deadlines.
• Interface with external formula developers and testing labs to support formula and sample submissions, track activities and results related to new product testing including in-vitro analytical and clinical & claims efficacy testing ensuring all results are received on or before milestone dates.
• Full ownership of artwork development and translations from start to finish
• Full ownership in the management and organization of product and packaging development bins and samples up until first production. Manage and work with warehouse and Operations team for the set up and maintenance of all product and packaging samples from lab, pilot, launch
• Lead and execute any/all tech transfer, reformulation, and repackaging projects for current skus
• Work with PD Director, Regulatory and Marketing to determine key claims and product copy
• Update Master Marketing Copy and Packaging Doc with all PD related information and keep current and latest file
• Update trackers for artwork, proofs/PPS/CRBs, lab batches, testing and keep current and latest approvals and rejections ensuring that all approvals of the listed are received on or before milestone dates required to meet established production dates
• Facilitate weekly vendor & CM meetings and send meeting recaps
• Lead daily interaction with suppliers and CMs to request and track ingredient and packaging samples, price quotes, technical information from external vendors and manufacturers
• Manage maintenance and organization of PIFs in company server for all product assortments which includes formula documents, testing reports, ingredient list, raw material technical data, and other product assets.
• Bring innovation, ideas, and new ingredients to the forefront of the product ideation process, keeping the Founder's formulation philosophy in mind
• Support Product Development Director in the review of global expansion projects in liaison with internal/external members
• Perform market and competitive research including on new brands, products, ingredients, customer reviews, etc. and regularly suggest new innovative ideas

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3-5 years of product/packaging development/project management experience in Beauty industry
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
• Strong project management skills. Experience with Smartsheet or other PM management tools is required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High degree of accountability and responsibility
• Attention to detail and pride in accuracy
• Must work well under pressure to meet deadlines with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• High degree of self-motivation
• Must be able to travel approximately 10% of time and physical handling of boxes of samples
• Must be LA based
