Payroll Analyst

Description:

Summary of Position:

The Payroll Analyst will perform the routine payroll processes for all NTEC operations. This corporate role will assist the Payroll Supervisor with all aspects of payroll and support the Accounting Services team.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
• Review of timecard data in Kronos for accuracy and in preparation of payroll close
• Participate in processing bi-weekly payroll and other special payment runs for multiple sites and states through net pay
• Process and review of all pre-payroll records and entries; including W4's, direct deposits, personnel changes, benefits and deductions, etc.
• Accurately complete 3rd Party Pays and Child Support/Garnishments post processing
• Reconcile 941 to W2 each payroll
• Prepare and schedule federal and state payroll taxes each payroll
• Maintain documentation of payroll and non-routine procedures from a payroll perspective
• Participate in year-end processes, including W-2 Forms and BSO filings
• Balance payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
• Coordinate with Payroll Supervisor on month-end responsibilities; including reporting, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Complete daily labor reconciliation and posting for hourly employees
• Complete bi-weekly and monthly labor processing and posting for salary and salary nonexempt employees
• Provide customer service by answering questions and requests related to payroll information
• Support and coordinate with teams at different locations as applicable
• May include travel to various operations as needed
• Opportunity to cross train across different departments as appropriate

Necessary Qualifications:

Knowledge and Relevant Experience
• 3-5 years of experience is preferred in processing payroll in an automated setting
• Associate's degree in accounting, Finance or related Business field preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Either have, or work towards, and maintain professional Payroll Certifications (FPC or CPP)
• Experience with and understanding of labor union laws and collective bargaining agreements preferred
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with internal control systems

• Experience in Kronos software

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to frequently sit with frequent forward bending and occasional rotation. The employee must rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 13 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 45 pounds horizontally. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required occasionally to walk; climb stairs; and stand with rare rotation. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74". Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment: Works in office environment and rarely site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
