JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and performance of our automated systems. This role will focus on programming and optimizing industrial robots and PLCs, troubleshooting automation issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support our production operations. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in ensuring our automation systems operate at peak performance.
YOUR JOB
As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Automation Programming & Optimization
Program and optimize industrial robots and PLCs to support production needs.
Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance Support
Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related equipment issues alongside maintenance staff.
Support installation and commissioning of new automated systems.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, engineering) to implement automation upgrades and maintenance programs.
Documentation & Compliance
Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in industrial automation or mechanical engineering (plastic injection molding experience a plus).
Experience with industrial robot programming (e.g., Fanuc or similar) and PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Experience with sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, relays, servos, and drives.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing automation systems.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable working on the floor in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with preventive maintenance and reliability engineering practices.
CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience working in an injection molding facility.
