We are searching for an experienced Process Engineer. You will provide crucial engineering and technical support across operations. Initially focusing on the start-up and technical support of systems and processes, you will play a pivotal role in commissioning and ensuring optimal performance and alignment with production goals.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a professional engineering role, with a strong preference for experience in heavy manufacturing.
Solid understanding of chemistry and chemical processes, particularly as they apply to metal production.
Proficiency in using process programming software such as Excel, Minitab, and HMI software for interfacing and data management.
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Basic programming skills are beneficial for optimizing process operations.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a capability for logical and critical thinking.
Essential Duties
Support the final design, configuration, and installation of equipment and processes prior to start-up.
Provide critical technical support during the commissioning and start-up phases of the plant.
Develop, assess, and implement process improvements post-start-up to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, capacity, throughput, quality, and efficiency.
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to optimize production and minimize costs.
Lead continuous improvement activities, including problem solving with Kaizen events.
Collect and analyze data using standard scientific and statistical methods; develop and maintain reports to track and monitor key performance indicators.
Support capital improvement projects and conduct risk analyses of equipment, processes, and systems.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or chemical engineering is ideal.
