ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Optimization Manager provides analysis and direction to ensure our tools & processes by which manufacturing, distribution supply chain performance and efficiency are improved, considering all constraints. The Supply Chain Optimization Manager will bring a track record of partnering with cross-functional business teams, building trust, and driving change. This role will have the opportunity to work on many challenging strategic initiatives that influence demand planning, inventory management, procurement, supply chain, and operations network planning to support our growing and diverse business. This role requires ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders from all levels of the organization and will drive mastery of planning fundamentals which will continue to allow MSI to operate as a forward-thinking organization.
Establishes standardization of processes across the supply chain organization leveraging and/or developing process and training documentation.
Supports roll out and change management around Standard Work adoption.
Develops road maps that address process, technology, and organizational gaps impacting performance.
Assists in training new users on processes in the Supply Chain Planning Organization Serves as the business project lead for enabling different Supply Chain Planning projects to help enable forward-thinking planning, examples include system go lives, strategic initiatives, and network optimization.
Responsible for processes optimization, through data analysis, across the Supply Chain including but not limited to - demand, material inventories, scheduling and run strategies.
Responsible for building monitoring tools and processes for master data governance throughout the Supply Chain organization.
Ensures consistent understanding and use of plant ERP planning tools.
Serves as a liaison between the Supply Chain COE, IT, and Data team to help build tools to enable the Supply Chain Organization to become forward thinking.
Builds tools and processes to improve our forecasting, service, and productive inventory at the lowest cost possible.
Owns and builds user communities for functions within the supply chain organization.
Provides functional system support - non-technical system questions, business conceptual questions, etc.
Provides reporting/analysis support for cross category or one-off requests.
Builds credibility, establishes rapport, and maintains communication with stakeholders at multiple levels.
Leads, coaches, and facilitates short-term and long-range objectives related to the overall supply chain function.
Works with planners/account managers to drive change plan and forecast inventory to include managing inventory levels and inventory turns, and minimizing obsolescence, scrap, aged inventories, and inventory reserves.
Continuously improves strategic processes involving forecasting, demand management, and the development of effective internal tools.
Maximizes production efficiency through better planning processes tied to- reduced changeovers, machine downtime and downtime due to raw materials/component shortages.
Develops and implements new, effective programs/policies for customer, supplier, transportation, and logistics management.
Provides daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and service reports as well as participate in the monthly metrics review.
Provides Project Management, Supply Chain, Materials Management, and Logistics leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any direct reports.
Trains and provides development opportunities for supply chain staff across the network.
Ensures annual goals are complete and communicated.
Ensures regular feedback is provided to staff members.
Acts as a team role model and change-agent.

QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Supply Chain or similar field preferred
Minimum Experience
Two to five years of cross-functional supply chain planning, with hands on experience in developing and deploying performance reporting and management tools to achieve operational excellence.
Three to five years of management and/or supervisory experience.
Food manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated track record in improving inventory accuracy, driving inventory reduction strategies, and reducing premium freight.
Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
