State of Connecticut Judicial Branch
Putnam


The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a Support Services Investigator to perform service of process for legal documents including contempt applications, motions for modification, paternity petitions, support petitions, income withholdings, orders of notice and other related motions or petitions relative to the administration of child support obligations; prepares required forms to establish service of such documents for the court file; conducts investigations and performs locate activities as necessary to locate respondents; schedules office appointments and conducts home and/or employment visits to effectuate legal service; maintains daily and monthly logbooks and reports of activities; updates the Connecticut child support computer system with locate information and service of process attempts; may interview respondents to obtain current address and employment information; performs related duties as required.

Salary Range: $54,911 - $71,914/year - plus State of Connecticut benefits.

New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

General Experience: Graduation from high school (or GED certification) and two years of experience in investigations, collections, law enforcement, security, clerical, social services, or a related field.

Substitutions Allowed: College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of one year.

Special Experience: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a motor vehicle available for daily use.
