Auto Welder


Are you an experienced welder with a passion for safety and high-quality workmanship? Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a dedicated Submerged Arc Welder to join team. In this role, you will work on welding structural parts and contribute to the success of our team by ensuring all welds meet the highest standards.

Basic Job Functions:

• 
  Welding Structural Parts: Read and interpret shop drawings to weld structural parts in accordance with Nucor Building Systems' weld procedures and quality standards.
• 
  Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, exhibiting a strong work ethic and positive personal and team safety attitudes.
• 
  Machine Operation: Operate welding machinery, including Submerged Arc Welders (SAW), and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and safely used.
• 
  Night Shift Commitment: Be committed to working the 3rd shift schedule (typically 10pm-6am) and willing to work overtime as required to meet production demands.
• 
  Other Tasks as Assigned: Perform additional duties as directed by Production Supervisors and Group Leaders to support the overall production process.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in steel product manufacturing.
• Able to pass a GMAW Weld Test
• Proficient in welding techniques with a solid understanding of welding principles
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior machine operation experience.
• Ability to conduct thorough visual inspections of welded parts for quality and compliance.
• Willingness to work a 3rd shift schedule (typical schedule10pm-6am)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Crane certifications or experience.
• At least one year of experience in SMAW welding in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Competent in with measuring tools.
• Previous weld certifications (such as AWS).
• Welding degree from an accredited technical college or equivalent experience in welding
