Compliance/Financial Officer

Location: Nashville Savings Bank, Nashville, IL

Reports to: CEO & Board of Directors

Position Overview

The Compliance/Financial Officer is responsible for administering the bank's Compliance Management Program, utilizing the Compliance Risk Assessment to ensure regulatory adherence. This role involves participating in various committees, advising the Board of Directors on compliance issues, and guiding the bank in establishing effective controls to manage compliance risks.

Additionally, the officer will oversee the financial operations of the bank, ensuring accurate financial reporting and advising on strategies that align with the bank's goals. This position requires strong analytical skills to manage financial data, monitor performance, and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Stay current with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to the banking industry and the bank's products/services.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations while assisting in risk management.
  • Review new products to determine compliance requirements, develop written policies, and establish audit schedules.

Financial Responsibilities:
  • Monitor financial operations and help manage financial risks.
  • Assist with investment management, liquidity, and investment strategies to optimize fund allocation.
  • Implement financial controls to safeguard bank assets and prevent fraud.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and contribute to the development of the annual budget.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management and the Board of Directors for strategic decision-making.

Audit & Examination Coordination:
  • Act as a liaison for federal and state compliance exams and external compliance audits.
  • Support auditors and examination staff by ensuring timely submission of required documentation and effectively communicating audit results.
  • Monitor compliance schedules to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in banking or finance is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and financial management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
