Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Professional Development Training Technology Summer Intern to join our Professional Development and Wellness (PDW) department. This position is a part-time, 32 hours per week, internship opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model. Reporting to a Manager of Professional Development, the Professional Development Training Technology Summer Intern will help enhance employee productivity through the research and implementation of AI and technological tools, with a particular focus on Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365. You will also play a key role in evaluating the organization’s current training offerings, identifying gaps, and developing strategies to address those needs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work across teams to improve learning efficiency and drive organizational growth through technology solutions.
You can expect to:
Research and Implementation of AI Tools: Conduct research on AI solutions, particularly Microsoft Copilot and other Microsoft 365 tools, to identify ways to enhance employee productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with the Professional Development team to implement, test, and integrate these tools effectively across the organization.
Training Needs Assessment and Strategy Development: Audit and catalog current training resources in the Learning Management System (LMS), and gather insights through surveys and interviews with staff and managers to identify skill gaps and training needs. Based on these findings, help develop a strategic plan to address training gaps and enhance existing offerings.
Content Creation and Employee Education: Assist in creating educational materials and resources to train employees on new AI tools and existing resources. Support efforts to ensure that employees are equipped to utilize these tools effectively.
Data Management and Reporting: Organize and analyze data related to training completion, employee performance, and the effectiveness of AI tools. Assist in preparing reports that track the progress of AI adoption and training gap closure.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Project Support: Collaborate with HR, IT, and leadership teams to ensure training and technology solutions align with organizational goals. Support other tech and data management projects as needed to optimize professional development efforts.
What is required:
Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in public health, healthcare administration, health information management, health informatics, human resources, information technology, data science, or a related field; Recent college graduates are ineligible for the internship program
Must be available to work part-time, 32 hours a week, for a minimum of 12 weeks
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Copilot, and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with a proactive, self-motivated approach
Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. regional office on an as needed basis
Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
